Festival-Team

The work of Tanztheater Erfurt e.V. is based on 3 pillars:
Stage productions, dance classes and the International Dance Theater Festival Erfurt. The association is a non-profit organization and operates in the independent cultural scene of Erfurt.
In addition to the wide range of dance classes there are a lot of various dance productions which are realized under the artistic direction. The association always works with a wide range of cooperation partners, in interesting locations and across genres. The Tanztheater Erfurt developed pieces in collaboration with professional dancers as well as for the association‘s Junior Company. The Tanztheater Erfurt has realized innovative and high-quality projects in recent
years.

The biennial International Dance Theater Festival is a special highlight. Launched in 2008, it has been a shimmering and moving offer for the dance scene in Thuringia. International guest performances are invited, a Junior Company production developed especially for the festival celebrates its premiere and the internationally dance competition „contact.energy“ attracts numerous young talents to Erfurt and enjoys great popularity among visitors. We also invite our audience to take part in various activities themselves. For example, we offer dance workshops and project meetings
for specialist audiences.

Furthermore, we love to add other media and genres – the Kinoklub is a permanent partner of the festival with its selected film program. Photo exhibitions, audio pieces and flash mobs are always included in the program, creating a multifaceted mix around the theme of dance.
The dance school provides a broad platform for trying out and learning contemporary and artistic styles of stage dance. From classical ballet, contemporary, contact.improvisation and breakdance everything is represented.
