Wunschkonzert tells the story of a woman who, in the monotony and loneliness of everyday life, has lost the ability to communicate with the outside world. The dancer and choreographer Maura Morales contrasts the hopelessness of real life with a dream world and designs in her story a different, fulfilled life lived.
Maura Morales’ brilliant first work as a cooperativa Maura Morales together with the composer Michio Woirgardt has been performed 85 times in 15 different countries and on 4 different continents. The production is updated against the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic, which forces people all over the world into the sometimes painful loneliness.
In this dance piece, which is based on a text by Franz Xaver Kroetz, the audience is led to the abysses of the human psyche without sinking into absolute hopelessness. The audience witness an emotion-charged performance with an extremely dynamic and virtuoso body language. Especially in times of corona and shutdown, the solo shines a current spotlight on the feeling of isolation, but it also provides inspiration and imagination for one’s own life.
