Jean Laurent Sasportes, solo dancer with the famous Pina Bausch Company Wuppertal, presents his dance performance “Short Pieces” as a duo with the well-known Dresden jazz musician Günther Baby Sommer.
The “short pieces” have already been performed in multiple versions, in the most diverse places in the world and with changing musical line-ups (including with Peter Kowald). In them, Sasportes shows – in a kind of structured improvised dance – certain shy, dubious, nervous or archaic characters. These music and dance improvisations were performed as Short Pieces I and II.
For the first joint performance with Günther Baby Sommer, the audience in Erfurt can expect another reinterpretation of the Short Pieces that have been part of his repertoire since 1989.#
